The School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering offers the opportunity to pursue a Doctoral Dissertation in the scientific fields of Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Maritime Transportation, and Marine Science and Technology. Candidates for a Ph.D. are accepted from graduates of the Naval Architecture Department of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), other Polytechnic Schools, and Higher Educational Institutions in Greece and abroad (legally recognized as equivalent to Greek Universities with a Master of Science or Master of Engineering degree), primarily in scientific fields related to natural sciences.
Twice a year, every September and March, a Call for Applications is published on the School’s website, listing the available new positions for Ph.D. candidates along with their respective fields of study.
Interested candidates are invited to submit their application within the deadline specified in the announcement for selection as a Ph.D. candidate in their chosen field of study, along with the required supporting documents. The candidates’ applications are forwarded to the relevant committees or departments for review and consideration. The selection of new PhD candidates is made by the General Assembly of the School, following a recommendation from the Advisory Committee.
