The program is part of NTUA’s internationalization initiative, which aims to support the participation of students from abroad, funded by the European Social Fund through the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF).
To graduate, students must successfully complete 12 taught courses and write a Postgraduate Diploma Thesis (PDT). The thesis must be defended before a committee, and its completion is required by the end of the third semester. An extension of up to one semester may be granted in exceptional cases.
Students can begin working on their thesis after the second semester, provided they have successfully completed at least half of their courses. They must select a thesis topic and supervisor, then submit an application to the Program Committee for approval.
The thesis is graded by a three-member Examination Committee, including the thesis supervisor. The final grade is an average of the scores given by the committee members, and the minimum passing grade is 5.5/10.
Students must attend all courses and participate in all educational activities. Absences may be excused in exceptional cases, but they must not exceed 1/3 of the total course sessions. Students who do not meet attendance requirements will need to retake the course in the next academic year.
Students who fail up to two courses can request a special re-examination or an additional examination period if granted by the Program Committee. If they fail to pass more than two courses, they may not be able to complete the program.

The program is designed to be completed in 3 semesters (1 ½ years). However, students may take up to 2 years to finish the program, including any extensions granted for the thesis.
Students receive guidance from their thesis supervisor and may also receive support from other faculty members, PhD holders, or research collaborators. Laboratory and technical staff are also available to assist with specialized equipment and research needs.
After completing the second semester, students must submit an application specifying their chosen thesis topic and supervisor. The Program Committee will review and approve the application, officially assigning a supervisor and establishing an Examination Committee.
Students who fail to complete the program within the allowed time (2 years) will not be awarded the MSc degree. Instead, they may receive a certificate listing the courses they have successfully completed.
